Job Overview
NHS Borders is looking for a NMC registered Nurse to join our thriving and innovative multi‑disciplinary team within the Child & Adolescent Health Service (CAMHS). Scottish Borders CAMHS aims to deliver person‑centred care based on the GIRFEC principles. The successful candidate will be central to transforming the way we support children, young people and families in the community.
Responsibilities
* Work with the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure services are effective, including professional and practice development.
* Deliver high quality, person‑centred care and lead by example to maintain high standards of practice.
* Support and care for children, young people and families in the specialist CAMHS service.
* Provide Tier 3 multidisciplinary and psychological interventions, and Tier 4 intensive community treatment.
* Participate in regular in‑house training opportunities through Continued Professional Development.
Qualifications
* NMC registered nurse.
* Motivated to develop clinical experience and knowledge of children and young people’s mental health.
Benefits and Working Conditions
Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week from 1st April 2026 (pro‑rata for part‑time). There will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate. Other benefits include training opportunities, a supportive team and a relaxed rural living environment.
Legal and Eligibility
As of 1 April 2025, the post may require a different level of criminal records check. Where assessed as a “regulated role”, the appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
