Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Leyland, supporting our customer Waitrose. Youll take responsibility for all things health and safety, quality and environmental at site and help push our road to zero campaign. Were looking for someone to champion and promote occupational health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the site whilst always leading from the front. This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00. However, this is a very busy, fast paced 24/7 site, so youll need to be flexible and arrange your time to ensure you know whats happening on the night and weekend shifts. This is logistics after all! What youll do on a typical day: Monitor on-site health and safety through the use of effective internal audits, risk assessments and regular training Develop and lead the sites health and safety strategy, consistently identifying opportunities and ideas for improvement Review the site and working practices, incident trends and follow up actions from audits and incidents Manage and monitor the implementation of all applicable quality, health, safety and environment policies and procedures What you need to succeed at GXO: NEBOSH General Certificate (essential) or Diploma (desirable), HACCP certificate (desirable) Previous experience within an MHE/Grocery environment along with knowledge of MHRA regulations Exposure to accident investigation, including full analysis and reporting The ability and confidence to influence senior stakeholders on all aspects of health and safety We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
