To provide a first class customer service to patients, visitors and staff of St Andrew’s Hospice.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Warmly greet all visitors to St Andrew’s Hospice, ensuring everyone signs in and out, and help to create a comfortable, welcoming environment
* Welcome patients and their relatives promptly, contacting the appropriate staff member to greet the patient
* Ensure calls/enquiries are quickly and effectively passed to appropriate person/department
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with other Hospice departments
* To be an ambassador for St Andrew’s Hospice in any dealings with staff, patients, relatives and visitors to the Hospice
* Responsible for the control of monies in reception area, ensuring all Hospice policies and procedures for cash handling are adhered to
* Support reception staff with Fire Warden duties
* Demonstrate excellent knowledge of St Andrew’s Hospice
* Ensure safe storage and management of Hospice keys
* Ensure deliveries are received and distributed in accordance with procedures
* Ensure procedures for samples and bloods are adhered to
* Ensure postage is correctly applied and ensure mail is posted each evening
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, manual handling/risk assessment and fire safety training

Training provided:
As this role involves patient contact, you will be required to undertake the following training:
* Communication, Loss, Grief & Bereavement/ Spirituality in Healthcare
All successful applicants will be expected to attend an interview and training before being appointed as a hospice volunteer.
