Job Description
3. Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments and reduce outstanding debts.
4. Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities, including payment schedules and transaction histories.
5. Communicate effectively with clients to resolve payment queries and disputes in a professional manner.
6. Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to ensure alignment on financial targets and reporting.
7. Prepare regular reports on aged debt and collection progress for management review.
8. Evaluate and set credit limits for new and existing customers based on financial analysis.
9. Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures at all times.
10. Support process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the credit control function.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Credit Controller should have:
11. Previous experience in credit control or a related role within accounting and finance.
12. Strong numerical and analytical skills to assess creditworthiness and manage accounts effectively.
13. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
14. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
15. A high level of attention to detail and organisational abilities.
16. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
17. Knowledge of the industrial/manufacturing sector is advantageous but not essential.
