A council in South London is seeking an experienced locum Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Community Occupational Therapy Duty Team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in triage, risk management, and community-based occupational therapy services.
Main Duties:
1. Coordinate daily duty functions alongside Duty Managers and Senior staff
2. Triage, prioritise and allocate Occupational Therapy referrals in a timely manner
3. Provide updates, feedback and reports as required
4. Support risk management and ensure safe service delivery
5. Assist with waiting list management and service efficiency
6. Contribute to quality assurance processes within the team
7. Support training and development of staff within the duty function
8. Provide specialist advice on equipment provision and major adaptations
9. Apply knowledge of manual handling and moving and handling practices
10. Work within relevant Social Care and Health legislation
11. Liaise with community services and manage appropriate referral pathways
Requirements:
12. Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration
13. Proven experience in Adult Social Care and community settings
14. Strong knowledge of equipment provision and major adaptations
15. Up-to-date knowledge of moving and handling practices
16. Understanding of relevant legislation in Social Care and Health
17. Experience in triage, duty work, or fast-paced environments
18. Excellent organisational and communication skills
19. Ability to manage risk and prioritise workload effectively
20. Enhanced DBS/CRB (or willingness to obtain)
21. Eligibility to work in the UK
