Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Deputy Manager to support our Store Manager and help drive the next phase of Babylady's growth. You'll lead by example on the shop floor, champion our values, and ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience. You'll also play a key role in business administration, financial oversight, and introducing new technology to improve our operations.Key Responsibilities
* Customer Service Leadership:
* Deliver and uphold outstanding levels of customer service, ensuring every customer feels valued and supported.
* Model empathy and professionalism in all customer interactions.
* Deputizing for Store Manager:
* Step in for the Store Manager as required, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
* Support with HR, staff rotas, payroll, and conflict resolution.
* Team Management:
* Motivate, train, and supervise staff, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.
* Lead by example in sales, service, and operational standards.
* Financial & Administrative Oversight:
* Monitor sales, costs, and margins, keeping a close eye on the bottom line.
* Oversee cash handling, banking, and daily reconciliations.
* Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships.
* Carry out high volumes of administrative work with meticulous attention to detail.
* Technology & Innovation:
* Embrace and champion new technologies to improve efficiency and customer experience.
* Help implement new systems CRMs, Newsletters, updated Website, ideally drawing on previous experience.
* Continuous Improvement:
* Identify opportunities to enhance processes, service, and profitability.
* Support delivery of in-store events, demos, and workshops.
About You
* Proven experience in a management or senior supervisory retail role (baby/children's sector a bonus, but not essential).
* Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and building strong customer relationships.
* Empathetic, approachable, and able to support customers at every stage of their journey.
* Financially savvy, with experience monitoring sales, costs, and margins.
* Highly organised, with excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
* Confident adopting new technology and driving digital change in a retail environment.
* Strong communicator and team motivator.
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to deputize for the Store Manager as needed.
