The Job
This opportunity is a rare opportunity for a data analyst to come into a successful law firm & be the person responsible for setting up a modern data function.
It will be a fantastic career step for an ambitious data analyst with a few years of commercial experience, an inquisitive mind, & a good way of dealing with people.
As you will become the sole Data SME within the organisation, this role will be high responsibility & autonomy – with associated opportunities for career growth & progression.
* Unlocking the value of the Firm’s financial, operational and client data by turning it into clear actionable insights – identifying trends, anomalies, and potential opportunities.
* Extraction of validated data from our company systems whilst maintaining data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.
* Design and deliver dashboards, reports and KPIs using tools such as SSMS, SSRS, Power BI.
* Generating regular reports for leadership.
* Interpret data and communicate technical findings in clear language for stakeholders.
* Support data governance initiatives for ensuring data quality, auditing purposes, & complying with GDPR regulations.
The Skillset / Experience
* Ideally this candidate will have 2-5 years of commercial experience in data analysis or related roles.
* Must have strong hands-on SQL skills (ideally also SSMS & SSRS familiarity).
* Must be strong with Excel (pivot tables, Power Query).
* PowerBI experience is key.
* Experience with financial or legal data handling, or with legal software like practice / case management software is highly advantageous (but not required).
* Clear & confident communicator to explain technical matters to non-technical colleagues.
* Trustworthy character & discretion to work with highly sensitive personal data.
