Vehicle Technician Location: Swindon SN2 Salary: £35,000- £40,000 (DOE) Full time: Permanent Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Motor Mechanic to join a well-established and expanding used car dealership and service centre based in Swindon. What you’ll be doing: Diagnosing faults: Use diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge to identify and assess issues with engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components. Carrying out repairs: Undertake a range of repair work, from standard maintenance tasks like oil changes and brake replacements to more complex jobs such as engine or transmission repairs. Routine servicing: Conduct regular maintenance checks, including fluid inspections, tyre rotations, filter changes, and brake assessments to ensure vehicles run safely and efficiently. Accurate documentation: Keep clear and detailed service records, including any parts replaced and recommendations for future work. Team collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the workshop and service team while maintaining excellent health and safety standards. What we’re looking for: Previous experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar role. Strong understanding of vehicle systems and the ability to diagnose and resolve faults effectively. Confident using a variety of hand and power tools. Relevant qualifications in automotive technology are beneficial but not essential.
