The Vacancy
Ocean Housing are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work within their current team who will provide grounds maintenance services to Ocean Housing communal areas.
Full time, 40 hoursa week
£26,208 per annum
Grounds Maintenance Operativeswork as part of a teamto provide a grounds maintenance service, responsibilities include:
* Complete horticultural duties as required across Ocean’s stock including grass cutting, strimming, weeding, maintaining and planting shrubs, trees, plants and other grounds maintenance and gardening tasks
* Assess site conditions and make decisions on most appropriate work to be undertaken and equipment to be used in accordance with weather conditions and best practice
* Conduct estate checks when on site, identifying and reporting any issues that may pose a health and safety risk to the public
* Be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and daily/routine checks of any plant or machinery provided
Qualifications and Experience
* Educated to NVQ Level 1 qualification (eg GCSE D-E or CSE level 2-5)) or equivalent and Level 1 qualification (eg GCSE D-E or CSE level 2-5 in English/Literacy) or equivalent
* Valid Full Driving Licence
* Grounds Maintenance experience and ability to carry out a wide range of horticultural tasks
* A good understanding of health and safety issues and risks in relation to grounds maintenance
