To support the effective management and operation of the Trust’s car parking facilities, delivering a safe, secure, and customer-focused frontline service to patients, visitors, and staff. The post holder will contribute to maintaining operational continuity and provide support to other Trust departments as required.

Operational Responsibilities
· Work as part of a team to deliver an efficient and effective car parking service across the Trust.

· Attend incidents of fire and major incidents in accordance with Trust operational procedures.
· Participate in the induction and local familiarisation of newly appointed officers, as directed, to ensure awareness of services, processes, and safe working practices.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities

· Participate in the induction and local familiarisation of newly appointed officers, as directed, to ensure awareness of services, processes, and safe working practices.
Service Delivery and Customer Care
· Provide a high standard of customer care to patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring enquiries are handled professionally and courteously.
· Deal with car parking queries and issues where possible, referring matters to the appropriate level of management when necessary.
· Ensure service users’ expectations are met in line with Trust standards and policies.
· Maintain a professional image at all times when representing the Trust.
Car Park Operations and Safety
· Take responsibility for the day-to-day safety, security, and service delivery of the Trust’s car parks and associated environments.
· Carry out regular patrols of car parking areas to monitor safety, usage, and compliance with Trust parking policy.
· Issue Parking Enforcement Notices and Warning Notices in accordance with Trust procedures.
· Assist with the effective management of patient and visitor parking to support access to Trust services.

Equipment and Systems
· Carry out basic maintenance of car park equipment, including payment machines, entry and exit barriers, and pay-and-display systems.
· Ensure the safe and effective use of equipment provided for car parking operations.
· Operate computer-based car parking management systems when providing cover in the car parking reception.
· Operate CCTV equipment in line with Trust CCTV policy and provide evidence to authorised Trust personnel when required.
· Operate Body Cameras
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
· Monitor and report daily figures relating to the availability of parking spaces in both patient and staff car parks.
· Identify and report to the Car Parking Supervisor any issues that may compromise safety, security, or service delivery.
· Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including untoward incident reports.
Emergency and Incident Response
· Assist with the evacuation of personnel during fire alarms, bomb threats, or other emergency situations.
· Complete untoward incident reporting procedures in line with Trust policy.
· Provide operational support during emergency situations as required.
Working Arrangements
· Car parking services operate throughout the year. It is a contractual requirement that officers work on Bank Holidays when rostered and required to meet operational service needs.
· There are elements of lone working in this job role.
· The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires periods of standing, walking, and physical activity.
Person specification
Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience, Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
* Basic IT skills appropriate to the role
* Ability to work flexibly within a rota-based service, including working as part of a team skills appropriate to the role
* Awareness of car parking procedures or a willingness to acquire knowledge through training.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Physically fit and able to undertake the duties of the role, including walking, standing for prolonged periods, and working outdoors.
* Ability to remain calm and confident when working under pressure or in potentially confrontational situations.
Desirable criteria
* Be educated to GCSE Grade ‘C’ or above (or equivalent) in English and/or Mathematics.
* Previous experience working in a security, facilities, parking, or customer-facing operational environment.
* Knowledge of parking enforcement and relevant legislation
