Senior Architect job in Cambridge, East Anglia
Hunter Dunning is now representing a, based in Cambridge. Within this role, you will be working on some of the country’s most high-profile heritage and conservation projects across all RIBA stages. They would also look for a Senior Architectural Technician with similar experience.
This practice partners with public bodies, charities, developers, and private clients to shape some of the UK’s most iconic buildings and spaces. From sensitive restoration to bold contemporary design in historic settings, their work spans cultural landmarks, master planning, education, hospitality, and more. Role & Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage technical design packages, ensuring clear outputs and deliverables.
2. Oversee and coordinate projects or key packages, delivering high-quality design, client satisfaction, and strong financial outcomes.
3. Liaise and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring smooth coordination of design professionals and stakeholders.
4. Conduct technical design reviews and audits, providing feedback and sharing lessons learned.
5. Mentor and manage up to three team members, while contributing to the practice’s Technical Leadership Group.
Required Skills & Experience
6. 15+ years of post-qualification experience as a Project Architect or Technologist in a UK-based practice, with RIBA/ARB or CIAT accreditation.
7. Strong technical expertise, including detailing, UK Building & Planning regulations, and experience across all RIBA stages (3-7).
8. Proficiency in technical software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and NBS, with experience managing others using these tools.
9. Leadership and project management skills, including managing teams, contract administration, and financial responsibility for projects.
10. Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to lead teams, liaise with stakeholders, and mentor junior staff.
