You will work within both the Elderly Care and newly opened Young Adult unit within the home. Which includes residents who are living with Dementia, Physical Frailty, Learning Disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, Parkinson's, Stroke, ADHD Autism and Mental Health Illness.

We are seeking experienced General Assistants to join our team.
As a General Assistant in one of our homes, your main responsibilities are
* Enable people to exercise their 'Human Rights' and make 'Choices' about their food and drinks preferences.
* Promote diversity and respect all identities, values and culture.
* Acknowledge the Food Standards Agency 'Allergen Checklist'.
* Follow the 'House Rules' in relation to food safety procedures. The 'House Rules' provide guidance about HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
* HACCP is a management system (CookSafe) which refers to procedures that you must put in place to ensure that food is safe.
* HACCP provide guidance about the storage, handling, preparation and cooking of food.
* Check expiry / use by dates prior to using food and/or drinks.
* Also record the date / use by date when opening packaging which contains food and/or drinks products.
* Assist the chef / cook with preparing food if competent to do so, this is in line with food safety guidelines.
* to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in the home
* to assist in the laundry with the demands of the home
* ensuring communal areas and our residents' bedrooms are clean and tidy
* to maintain documentation to reflect cleaning tasks completed
* to adhere to Infection Control policies
* maintaining communication with the Housekeeper and Home Manager
* work collectively as a team
You will, preferably, have previous experience in a similar role or sector and be able to demonstrate an understanding of HACAP, COSHH, and infection control procedures. You will be able to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team as well as having the confidence to work autonomously. You will know how to be respectful of our residents' dignity and privacy, ensuring our residents' right to confidentiality is maintained at all times.
