The role
We are a market-leading nature tech company on a mission to make nature measurable and actionable at scale. Our platform delivers vital insights on species, habitats, and nature-related risks, helping businesses across sectors - from mining and renewable to CGS and financial services - make smarter, more sustainable decisions.
As global leaders in biodiversity monitoring and eDNA analysis, we are transforming how nature is measured. Our technology makes biodiversity insights accessible, actionable, and scalable, powering change from conservation to industry. Recognised as Earthshot Prize Finalists 2024, BloombergNEF Pioneers 2024, World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers 2024, and part of the TechNation Future Fifty 2025, we are shaping the future of how organisations understand and protect nature.
As our Solutions Ecologist you are the technical backbone of our Commercial team. In a high-growth environment, our Sales team works hard to build commercial relationships; your job is to support those relationships to become meaningful projects by providing the scientific authority and technical clarity required to cross the finish line.
Sitting within the Commercial Team, you are the technical touch point for our team of Sales People. You aren't just a subject matter expert; you are a strategic unblocker. You will be the expert in the room for client meetings, contribute to our most complex technical proposals, and the mentor who ensures our sales force speaks the language of ecology with total confidence.
You will manage the technical pipeline across three key pillars:
Technical Sales Strategy (60%)
* Be the Expert in the Room: Join client discovery calls to decode their pain points and translate our suite of nature monitoring tools—from eDNA to bioacoustics—into a language that resonates with stakeholders.
* Design Winning Proposals: Review and refine commercial bids to ensure our methodologies are bulletproof and perfectly aligned with our product capabilities.
* Define the Scope: Collaborate with the Sales team to map out complex bids, ensuring we promise exactly what our Operations and Ecology teams can deliver.
* Enable the Team: Keep the Sales department sharp by transferring the latest updates from our ecology roadmap into their toolkit.
Bespoke Analysis & Expert Delivery (20%)
* Find the "So What?": For our most strategic projects, you will take standardized data and provide the narrative, interpreting results within the client's specific ecosystem or regulatory framework.
* High-Level Reporting: Author technical summaries for key accounts that require a deeper ecological story than our automated systems provide.
* Consultative Design: Act as a billable expert for clients needing custom survey designs or bespoke biodiversity monitoring frameworks.
Internal Liaison & Quality (20%)
* Voice of the Client: Feed market trends and client frustrations back to the Ecology team to help inform a market-leading product roadmap.
* Technical Excellence: Work with cross-team colleagues to ensure all commercially-facing content is accurate and reflects global best practices.
How Your Success Will Be Measured
Your success is defined by Commercial Velocity:
* Booking Impact: Your contribution to closing high-value opportunities and large-scale bids.
* Client Confidence: Maintaining an 80/20 split between client-facing activity and internal projects.
* Billable Excellence: Meeting targets for bespoke analysis and expert consultation hours.
* Proposal Quality: Ensuring every offering maximizes value for both the client and the natural world.
