About the Role
The Lead Draught Technician will take the lead role in any project, coordinate the job workscope and communicate work requirements and information with other team members.
The successful candidate will liaise with departments within the business to achieve the desired outcome within the required deadline.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
* Display good communications and relations with other departments within the business
* Accurately take measurements of mechanical components within the workshop areas.
* Produce detailed Engineering drawings to the required standard using CAD systems.
* Checking and Approval of Engineering drawings or Calculations produced by other Draughtspersons.
* Produce 3D Concept models using Solidworks to support CTR quotations.
* Assist and support other members of the Drawing Office and Engineering teams.
* May be required to attend Project or Job meetings when necessary; and provide Job status feedback to other Production Team Leaders at these meetings.
* Work to their ability / capacity to meet priority deadlines and ensure that other team members area also meeting these priority deadlines.
* Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standard of quality.
* Ability to meet, communicate and deal with clients in a professional manner, if working offshore or during on-site visits and surveys
Qualifications
* Minimum of Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification in an engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical).
* SVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Technical Support (SCQF Level 6).
Skills and Experience
* Problem solving experience.
* Engineering experience.derstanding of engineering practices and be familiar with workshop / manufacturing processes and have relevant experience in dimensional checking of mechanical components.
* The ability to produce detailed drawings using CAD or Solidworks software.
* Effective communication skills.
* Honest, reliable and the ability to work well as a team member and to take their own initiative.
* Possess Good drawing skills, with the ability to read, understand and interpret drawings.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to achieving excellence and meeting deadlines.
* Familiar with good Engineering practices and procedures in both design and manufacture.
