We’re seeking a vibrant, motivated, creative, and passionate educator with a sparkling personality to join our well-resourced centre to support our tamariki, parents, and whānau in facilitating child-led play.
You will work alongside our Centre whānau to open the sessions, guide activities, facilitate learning for our members and tamariki, role model child-led play, and promote positive guidance.
The successful candidate will support whānau in the use of Te Reo Māori, encourage participation in the Playcentre Education programme to increase qualification levels at our centre, and demonstrate the benefits of participation to whānau.
Let your inner author shine by writing learning stories highlighting tamariki achievements, developments, learning, and wonders while supporting whānau to explore their light bulb moments.
We are all about mentoring and supporting parents, whānau, members, and tamariki as they explore and learn with their children during these very special years.
Working hours are Wednesday & Friday 9.15am – 1.15pm. This is a permanent position during term time only.
We will review applications upon receipt, and the ideal candidate may be appointed before the closing date.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.
2. Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.
3. Hold a primary teaching qualification and be prepared to undertake a Playcentre Bridging Course.

Desirable skills and experience will include:
1. Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
2. A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.
4. Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to foster a sense of belonging during our sessions.
5. Knowledge of ECE regulations or willingness to upskill.
6. Ability to use technology.
