You’ll work closely with students with physical, learning, or mental health challenges, helping them navigate their course and university life. You’ll support students—especially those awaiting Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)—to ensure reasonable adjustments are in place, collaborating with academic teams, disability advisors, and student services. This hands-on role is varied and rewarding, from helping students gain confidence in studios to offering guidance and support when they need it most. About You: You will be comfortable working in a creative, studio-based educational setting. You will hold knowledge about the challenges faced by disabled and neurodiverse students, with a clear commitment to inclusive practice. You will be an excellent communicator—calm, clear, and compassionate—able to build supportive relationships with students and staff. Flexible and proactive in your approach, able to respond to student needs and work collaboratively with various teams. An organised and confident individual, comfortable in using digital tools for record-keeping and communication. About The Role: Delivering tailored support to students with a range of disabilities and mental health conditions. Advising on and implementing reasonable adjustments in collaboration with programme teams. Supporting students with orientation, time management, and accessing internal/external services. Helping students develop strategies for working confidently in studios, workshops, and other practical learning environments. Assisting with DSA-related tasks, such as booking needs assessments and liaising with Disability Advisors. Monitoring student wellbeing, raising any safeguarding or welfare concerns appropriately. Supporting students with communication, organisation, and confidence-building in both academic and social settings. Keeping accurate records of support sessions and contributing to regular reviews of support plans.
