Location: North UK. Commutable locations include Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Preston, York, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Bradford, Hull, Wakefield, Sunderland, Carlisle, Warrington.
Salary: Up to £50,000
Benefits: uncapped commission (OTE in first year £65,000), company car, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, healthcare.
This is a home-based role working with the Managing Director to drive growth across the region.
The role involves selling high-value packaging solutions ranging from £35,000 to £1 million, with a strong product portfolio to deliver technical solutions and capital equipment sales. Travel and overnight stays may be required.
Responsibilities
* Driving growth across the territory by strengthening existing relationships and winning new business.
* Balancing time between account management (30%) and new business development (70%).
* Selling market-leading packaging machinery with a focus on the food industry (70%) and expanding into non-food sectors (30%).
* Representing the business at key trade shows and exhibitions, showcasing solutions to clients.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in industrial, technical, or engineering field sales — ideally with exposure to the food processing industry.
* A driven, self-motivated, and organised approach, ready to take on a challenge in a fast-growing business.
* Confidence with technical and engineering terminology, ideally with an engineering background or relevant qualifications.
* A proactive mindset with the ability to manage your own workload and deliver against deadlines.
* A personable, enthusiastic, and team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.
Location considerations
As our Area Sales Manager, you can be located in the North West or other parts of the North; the right candidate matters more than postcode.

It is highly likely you will have worked in roles such as Area Sales Manager, Field Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, or Regional Sales Manager in Processing and Packaging Machinery, Capital Equipment, or related sectors.
