The PEP team works closely with the investment teams at Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners across the US, UK and Australian energy markets. PEP was established to provide Quinbrook with enhanced capability in project origination, development, asset management and revenue optimisation. Projects developed by PEP are intended for future investment by Quinbrook via its managed funds.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our team. This is a senior-level role providing strategic and hands-on legal support across all aspects of our operations, including construction contracts, commercial agreements, procurement, regulatory compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution. You will be joining our existing in-house property solicitor.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the principal legal advisor to the company on construction, commercial, and regulatory matters.
* With support from external legal firms, draft, review, and negotiate construction and infrastructure contracts, including NEC, JCT, FIDIC, EPC, and related subcontracts, working closely with our development and construction teams.
* Design Contract suites that are suited to PEP’s risk appetite, ensuring that contract interfaces and risks are clearly understood.
* Oversee legal aspects of procurement, joint ventures, corporate structuring for project companies, project finance, and supply chain relationships.
* Lead legal risk assessments and ensure best-in-class risk mitigation strategies.
* Manage external legal counsel where necessary.
* Support senior leadership in strategic decision-making, board matters, and corporate governance.
* Handle pre-litigation and litigation matters as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 8+ years of post-qualification experience.
* Strong background in construction and commercial law, ideally gained in both private practice and in-house roles.
* Experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
* Deep knowledge of UK construction law, contract negotiation, and regulatory frameworks.
* Proven ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, project, and executive teams.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
