One of the North’s leading firms of chartered accountants and business advisors employing c.1,000 staff across several offices, is looking to recruit a Payroll Manager/Supervisor to its Newcastle office to deliver high quality and timely payroll services to a portfolio of clients ranging in size and complexity. You will be part of a team managing a portfolio of new and existing clients, with responsibility for the delivery and implementation of payroll services to a high standard, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Your key responsibilities as Payroll Manager/Supervisor will include: * End-to-end payroll process delivery for a portfolio of clients, ensuring that the payrolls are processed and submitted each pay period in a timely and accurate manner * Advising on any technical payroll matters arising, such as termination payments, payrolling of benefits and statutory payments * Dealing with client and team queries in relation to payroll operations, including handling escalations * Managing team workloads and allocations, providing counselling including annual and in-year reviews * Preparing client fee and budget details * Approving BACS files for the payment of employees * Auto-Enrolment compliance * Set up and attending client meetings when required * Developing additional services for payroll clients * Ensuring the smooth transition/implementation of new payroll clients - effective procedures for the setup of internal and external systems, tools and processes * HMRC audit assistance and ensuring compliance with internal quality and risk requirements As Payroll Manager/Supervisor, you will need: * Strong, end-to-end experience as Payroll Manager, Payroll Delivery Manager, Payroll Supervisor, Payroll Controller, Senior Payroll Officer or similar – ideally gained in a UK bureau environment or handling larger/more complex payrolls * Payroll qualifications e.g. Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) advantageous * Expertise in understanding payroll compliance, rules and legislations in a multi-country environment, in addition to AE, RTI, Apprenticeship Levy, Statutory payments/deductions, Pension contributions and so on * Understanding of related processes that impact Payroll * Strong workload, project, time and stakeholder management skills * Good IT skills including experience of working with Excel documents * An assertive, proactive, flexible, service-driven, innovative and cooperative approach to delivery with desire to take on responsibility * Excellent communication skills Rewards and benefits: * Salary £40,000 - £60,000 excellent benefits package * Full time * Permanent role * Excellent training, support and career development opportunities * Attractive city centre office and flexible working Please note: - To secure maximum pay/rewards, you must possess all outlined experience, skills, knowledge and relevant qualifications. - High levels of interest mean we will only contact you if your application is shortlisted and this will happen within five working days. - Candidates must have the right to work in the UK permanently and without any restrictions – there is no visa sponsorship on offer for this role
