We are seeking an experienced MR radiographer (diagnostic radiography) to work at West Suffolk Hospital and the Newmarket Community Development Centre. The role is 34.5 hours per week, typically Monday-Wednesday 08:00-20:00, with extended days and weekends on a rota, plus opportunity for job-share or days off in lieu for weekend work.
Main duties of the job
* Participate in 7-day extended day working.
* Apply MHRA and MRI safety procedures in daily scanning.
* Make patients feel at ease while maintaining a tight schedule.
* Review equipment and flag any artefacts or issues.
* Participate in QA programme.
* Participate in training from ILS to ANTT.
* Adapt protocols according to clinical pathology.
Education and qualifications
* Have a degree or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
* Be registered with the HCPC.
* Comprehensive, up to date CPD portfolio.
* GCSE in English or equivalent.
* Post Graduate courses in MRI.
Experience and knowledge
* Have experience in cross sectional imaging.
* Professional work experience in the NHS.
* Demonstrate interest and experience in a variety of cross-sectional procedures.
* Must demonstrate current knowledge of MRI guidelines, in particular MHRA.
* Participate in audit and governance.
* Be competent in MRI.
* Have senior experience.
* Confident to check MRI safety for patients with active implants.
Skills and abilities

* Demonstrate assertiveness with cross-sectional safety issues.
* Able to use a wide range of IT systems.
* Ability to select suitable protocols for pathology.

* Ability to teach MRI to staff, students and others.
* Occupational health clearance to carry out all duties of role.
* Ability to travel to satellite locations to carry out post.
* High self-awareness, understanding own emotions, strengths and limitations.
* Participation in out of hours MRI duties.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 a year (per annum, pro rata).
