The Dog at Pentrich is seeking a passionate and friendly Chef to join our kitchen team. The Dog is coming up to its second birthday. Since re opening we have grown from strength to strength and have a good reputation in the local area for great food and a warm welcome. We are seeking someone that will possess the experience to do the role but also someone that is positive, friendly and wants to work in a great environment. We can offer 4 on 3 off in this role.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a flair for creativity and an unwavering commitment to food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in managing kitchen operations, leading a team of culinary professionals, and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
* Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and dietary requirements.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene practices.
* Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
* Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as necessary to ensure consistent quality.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning optimally.
* Assist in the planning of special events and catering services as required.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* Supervising experience with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
* Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
* Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and foster a positive work atmosphere.

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
