The Soccer Archive
Marketing manager
£30,000 - £40,000 a year

Offer description

Are you a marketing all-rounder with a passion for football that runs as deep as your knowledge of GA4?

Do you get a buzz from seeing a well-optimised product page hit the top of Google, or a clever social campaign sell out a 90s Archive kit?

If you live and breathe both beautiful data and beautiful football shirts, we want to hear from you.

Who We Are:

The Soccer Archive is a premier destination for rare, authentic, and iconic vintage football shirts. Launched in early 2023, we offer a diverse selection of original vintage football products. We specialise in authentic, rare, and iconic football shirts from legendary clubs and players worldwide, catering to passionate fans, collectors, and fashion enthusiasts alike.

More than just a retailer, we are archivists and storytellers, connecting fans with the rich history and emotional significance of the beautiful game. With a thriving e-commerce store and physical locations, we are experiencing rapid growth and are looking for a talented marketing expert to lead us into our next chapter.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for our first in-house Marketing Manager to take full ownership of our digital presence and beyond. In this role, you will be the architect of our online strategy, responsible for driving traffic, converting sales, and building a global community around our brand. This is a hands-on and impactful position where your work will be directly linked to our commercial success.

You will be replacing an external agency, so we need someone who can manage everything from high-level strategy to detailed execution. Additionally, you will be responsible for organising and overseeing our offline marketing events, including in-store collaborations, product launches, and community events. This role is based in Salford, M50, Greater Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

In a company like ours, the "Marketing Manager" role encompasses more than just strategy. You will serve as the entire marketing department and will report directly to the Directors. Your responsibilities will include:

* Planning and executing digital campaigns (Paid Social, PPC, SEO).
* Analysing data from Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, etc.
* Managing the website on Shopify.
* Creating content for emails (Klaviyo), the blog, and, in liaison with the Social Media Manager, social media posts
* Organising of in-store and offline events. This entails conceptualising engaging event themes, assisting with logistical planning, and coordinating with the store managers and staff.
* Developing promotional strategies across both digital and traditional offline channels, like local press or direct mail, to drive footfall and online engagement.
* Working within a set budget, analyse the event's return on investment, and ensure the activity strengthens brand awareness and bridges the gap between the company's online presence and physical community.

What We're Looking For (The Essentials):

* Proven experience (3-5 years) as a hands-on digital marketing manager, preferably in an e-commerce or retail environment.
* A genuine, deep passion for football. You understand the narratives, the legends, and the culture that make our products so special.
* A demonstrated track record of managing and optimising Google Ads and Meta Business Suite campaigns with a clear focus on ROI.
* Strong technical knowledge of SEO, including keyword research, on-page optimisation, and content strategy.
* Proficiency with analytics tools, primarily Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
* A self-starter attitude: highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The Nice-to-Haves:

* Basic skills in graphic design (Canva/Adobe Photoshop) and video editing.
* An interest in vintage fashion, subcultures, or nostalgia branding.

What We Offer:

* A competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
* The chance to be the marketing lead for a beloved and growing brand.
* Staff discount on the most incredible vintage shirts you'll ever see.
* A passionate and supportive team environment.
* Opportunities for professional development and growth as the company expands.
