Job Title: Architecture Portfolio Manager - IT

Salary: Circa £75,300 + depending on experience plus executive benefits
What you'll be doing:
1. Lead strategic continuous improvement initiatives across the Group Information Management and Technology (IM&T) Strategy and Architecture Centre of Expertise, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide goals
2. Drive the development and adoption of future-focused tools, methods, and frameworks across the IM&T Digital function to support long-term functional transformation
3. Shape and guide the strategic application of systems design approaches-selecting between predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (iterative/ agile) methodologies to meet evolving organisational needs
4. Establish and influence strategic relationships with senior business leaders and key functional stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure alignment of digital architecture with business priorities
5. Spearhead the implementation of a next-generation Enterprise Architecture Repository across BAE Systems, enabling strategic oversight and governance of IM&T applications and project portfolios
6. Collaborate with enterprise architects across Group, sectors, and functions to ensure the architecture repository is actively governed, up to date, and reflective of business capability needs
7. Provide strategic governance and assurance for project demands and application records, ensuring they meet corporate policy standards and support enterprise capability development
8. Establish and lead cross-functional working groups to drive strategic alignment, manage enterprise repository governance, and escalate key issues or change proposals to senior IM&T authorities
Your skills and experiences:
9. Experience working within large, complex organisations with a broad understanding of Information Technology and digital environments
10. Knowledge and practical application of configuration management, change management, and assurance-led programmes
11. Proven track record in supporting the delivery of projects across multiple IT and digital disciplines
12. Leadership skills in operational management, including guiding teams and improving processes
13. Excellent analytical and communication abilities, capable of interpreting complex requirements and clearly engaging diverse stakeholders
The Team:
This role sits within the Chief Information Office, working alongside a growing team of seven architects to drive strategic internal change initiatives. You will lead efforts to enhance how architectural work is managed, delivered, and demonstrated, acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders engaging with the architecture function.
