The project:

Our Transportation team is growing in Northern Ireland and we have an exciting opportunity for a to join our Rail team on a full-time permanent contract. As Associate Project Director you will represent Mace whilst interfacing with our key clients. You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.

You will be required to work in the office 3 days per week with ad-hoc travel to sites in and around Belfast.

4. You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.

5. You will be responsible for delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.

6. On behalf of external/third-party clients, you will oversee the project management of the project on an individual and team basis from inception to post-completion.

7. You will ensure robust quality systems are in place, and suitably managed in line with service excellence.

8. You will manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.

9. You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of the Associate Director and other senior leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.

10. You will manage project budgets and highlight any risks, challenges and mitigations.

11. You will support the long term development of your function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.

12. You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.

13. You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.

14. You will lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).

20. You will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, up to C-Suite, to implement and manage our programmes.

You’ll need to have:

21. Project Management and Project Delivery experience

22. Experience in contract administration

23. NEC Accredited (preferred)

24. Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

25. Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively in a team.

26. Tertiary qualifications in related (project management and/or construction related discipline), non-related degree or equivalent professional experience / apprenticeship, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.

27. Appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (or local equivalent).

28. MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE (or equivalent local certification).

You’ll also have:

29. Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.

30. Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.

31. Strong commercial and financial acumen.

32. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.

33. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

34. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
