Job Summary The Learning Designer is responsible for translating curriculum content into high-quality, engaging, and learner-centred materials across both digital e-learning modules and instructor-led delivery. Working closely with Product Managers and Curriculum Developers, you will take structured learning content and bring it to life through intuitive, well-designed learning experiences. This includes building e-learning modules (e.g. Articulate Rise/Storyline) as well as designing effective instructor-led presentation materials that support high-quality delivery by coaches. Through strong visual design, attention to detail, and application of learning design principles, you will ensure all learner-facing materials are clear, consistent, accessible, and aligned to learning outcomes. You will play a key role in shaping how our curriculum is experienced by learners, ensuring it is not only on brand, but engaging, easy to follow, and effective in supporting learning. This role plays a key part in maintaining and scaling that standard, ensuring every learner-facing asset reflects the clarity, consistency, and quality that we are known for. Key Responsibilities: 1. Learning Design & Development Translate curriculum content into engaging, high-quality digital and instructor-led learning materials. Design and build e-learning modules using tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, or similar platforms. Create and optimise instructor-led presentation materials that support effective delivery, ensuring slides enhance teaching rather than simply present information. Apply visual design principles (layout, hierarchy, spacing, typography) to make complex information clear and easy to follow. Develop supporting assets such as diagrams, infographics, templates, and visual explanations. Work within established templates and brand guidelines while introducing fresh, modern design approaches to improve learner engagement. Ensure all materials are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with UX and learning design best practice. 2. Curriculum Quality & Design Standards Maintain and apply Baltic’s learning design templates, brand guidelines, and style systems. Ensure consistency across programmes in terms of layout, structure, and learner experience. Identify opportunities to improve clarity, usability, and visual consistency across existing materials. Support the evolution of templates, design systems, and visual standards as the curriculum grows. Ensure all materials accurately reflect curriculum intent and align with learning outcomes. 3. Curriculum Improvement & Maintenance Manage updates to learning materials based on feedback from coaches, learners, employers, and QA processes. Refine content flow, structure, and clarity to improve the overall learning experience. Maintain accurate version control, file organisation, and documentation for all curriculum assets. Contribute to internal quality assurance reviews, audits, and continuous improvement cycles. 4. Collaboration & Content Enhancement Work closely with Product Managers and Curriculum Developers to improve the flow, structure, and readability of learning content. Apply learning design principles to enhance content, ensuring it is engaging and easy to understand. Simplify complex topics through effective use of structure, visuals, and interaction. Identify and flag areas where content may be unclear, overly complex, or could be improved for the learner. Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience in a Learning Designer, Instructional Designer, or similar learning-focused role. Experience designing and building e-learning content using authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Rise, Storyline, or similar). Strong understanding of learning design principles and how to apply them to both digital and instructor-led materials. Ability to translate curriculum intent and learning outcomes into clear, engaging learner-facing content. Strong visual design skills, including layout, hierarchy, and presentation design. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
