Position: Youth Engagement Worker - Kick the Dust
Pay: £13.30 per hour (£5,187.00 per annum)
Location: Great Yarmouth
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st March 2027
Hours per week: 7.5 hours - 9am - 5pm on a Wednesday

YMCA Norfolk is looking for an enthusiastic, committed Youth Engagement Worker to join our inspiring Kick the Dust project—an innovative programme using heritage-based activities to spark creativity, confidence and personal development in young people.
What you'll be doing
* Engage and inspire young people through creative, heritage-focused activities as part of the Kick the Dust programme.
* Champion youth participation, ensuring young people feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions about their lives.
* Build strong relationships with partner agencies and colleagues, putting young people at the heart of project development.
* Promote personal development, encouraging residents to explore opportunities, grow in confidence and develop new skills.
* Ensure high-quality, person-centred support, meeting performance and contractual requirements while upholding YMCA Norfolk's values.
* Work within clear professional boundaries, including lone working protocols and safeguarding policies.
What we're looking for
We're seeking someone who is:
* A natural engager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Confident working with young people from diverse backgrounds
* Organised, proactive and able to manage time and projects effectively
* Skilled in youth participation and group facilitation
* Experienced in partnership or multi-agency settings
* Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion
* Able to work independently while being a great team player
* In sympathy with the Christian ethos and values of the YMCA
You'll also need solid working knowledge of youth work practices, a good level of digital competency (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
A JNC qualification in youth work and a full driving licence are desirable.
