Overview
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at New Barn School. You will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs. Work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and collaborate with education teams.
Responsibilities
* Deliver assessment and intervention for pupils with complex and diverse communication profiles.
* Hold a caseload of Speech and Language Therapy cases.
* Provide support to staff through training and consultation.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and carers.
* Attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group.
Essential Qualifications
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT.
* Experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex communication profiles.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary settings.
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers.
* Good relationship building, analytical and judgemental skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong time‑management and organisational abilities.
* Competency in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Knowledge of assessment tools, intervention types and support planning.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory, motor and other differences impacting communication.
* Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
* Full driving licence and access to a car.
