Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub-based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to attend OVO Connection events in person.

Teamworking for the planet
This role is crucial in shaping and delivering OVO’s Digital Risk engineering strategy. You will develop automated, data-driven risk assessments, risk quantification, and accountability measures, working across teams to embed digital risk management in our systems.
This role in a nutshell:
You will be a technical leader in risk and security engineering, responsible for strategic planning, architectural guidance, and leading innovative risk solutions. Your expertise will ensure systems are designed with embedded digital risk considerations from development to deployment, aligning with business goals and advancing our security posture.
Your key outcomes will be:
* Define Security Strategy & Roadmaps: Lead the development and communication of technical strategies for risk engineering capabilities, aligning with business objectives and threat landscape.
* Architectural Leadership & Governance: Develop secure reference architectures, enforce standards, and provide architectural consultation for complex projects.
* Solve Top-Tier Risk and Resilience Problems: Address complex risk challenges through research, innovative solutions, and cross-functional collaboration.
* Lead High-Impact Risk Initiatives: Build automated, AI-enabled risk management systems, guiding organization-wide risk engineering programs.
* Organisational Risk Assessment & Strategic Guidance: Provide expert risk assessments and strategic advice to senior leadership.
* Champion Advanced Secure Development & Testing: Promote mature secure development practices and advanced security testing methodologies.
* Influence & Strategic Collaboration: Foster collaboration across teams to embed risk policies into products and processes, enhancing transparency and risk management.
* Mentor Senior Technical Staff & Elevate Practice: Mentor engineers, contribute to communities of practice, and develop security talent.

What’s in it for you:
Salary: £105,000 - £138,000, plus a 15% bonus based on performance.
