We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join the Buildings team at Chatsworth. This is a varied role ideally suited to a building surveyor or building contracts manager with an interest in the repair and restoration of traditional buildings.
Based at Park Rangers in Edensor, you will assist in the management of a variety of planned and capital building projects within the Derbyshire Estate.
As a Building Surveyor, you will:
* Prepare specifications of work for tendering and contract purposes, then appoint and manage contractors as required.
* Manage building projects ensuring works are completed in a timely manner, to the required standard, within budget and in line with health & safety legislation.
* Assist in the day-to-day management of reactive repairs, liaising with tenants and contractors.
* Review risk assessments and method statements for all building works.
* Support the Head of Buildings in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly reconciliation of year to date and forecast expenditure.
* Have a wide understanding of the construction industry including knowledge of building contracts, materials, trades, construction methods and legal requirements, including CDM Regulations, building heritage and safety in buildings.
* Form appropriate working relationships with contractors, consultants, tenants, and colleagues.
* Work as part of our on-call out of hours rota.

This is a full-time permanent role working Mon - Fri 08.00am until 16.30pm with half hour for lunch.
