We’re looking for an experienced and driven Executive Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our busy, award-winning boutique inn near Hull. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of a high-performing kitchen and make a real impact on both the team and the guest experience.

The Role
As Executive Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for leading the kitchen operation, inspiring your team, and ensuring every dish is delivered to an exceptional standard. You’ll play a key role in driving performance, maintaining compliance, and consistently exceeding guest expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
12. Leading the kitchen during service, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency
13. Planning and coordinating kitchen operations alongside senior management
14. Coaching and developing your team, fostering a positive and collaborative culture
15. Creating seasonal, high-quality menus that reflect current trends and guest demand
16. Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
17. Managing recruitment, training, and ongoing development of the team
18. Controlling costs and driving profitability through effective stock and menu management
19. Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and value
20. Acting as a key communicator between kitchen, front of house, and guests
21. Maintaining high standards and performance during busy service periods
About You
You’ll work closely with the General Manager and Head of Food, combining creativity with strong operational control to deliver an outstanding food offering.
We’re looking for someone who:
22. Has at least 3 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar setting
23. Has experience delivering 1-2 rosette standard cuisine
24. Is passionate about fresh, high-quality food and great guest experiences
25. Is organised, detail-focused, and solutions-oriented
26. Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
27. Has excellent communication and customer service skills
28. Holds (or is willing to obtain) Food Safety Level 3 certification
29. Is adaptable, flexible, and confident managing change
