SCG Together is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Support Field Engineer to join our team. The role involves providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and fault resolution across customer locations. The successful candidate will represent SCG professionally while delivering high-quality technical service.
Responsibilities:
* Provide on-site technical support, diagnostics, and fault resolution for customer systems and equipment
* Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure
* Respond to service requests and incidents
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, escalating where necessary
* Carry out preventative maintenance and system health checks
* Accurately document work completed, including reports and service notes
* Maintain a high standard of customer service and communication
* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures while working on-site
* Work independently in the field while collaborating with internal teams
Skills
Essential:
* Previous experience in a technical support or field engineering role
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Good knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and networking
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Strong organisational and documentation skills
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Experience with networking equipment such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi
* Knowledge of telecoms, VoIP, broadband, or fibre services
* Relevant technical certifications or equivalent experience
* Experience working to SLAs and using ticketing systems
