Job Title: Mechanical Contracts DirectorLocation: Portsmouth, HampshireSalary: C£85,000 plus package - based on experience
HAYS are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established mechanical contracting company serving clients across Hampshire. With a strong portfolio of projects, we specialise in industrial, MOD (Ministry of Defence), educational, commercial, and pharmaceutical installations.
Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Director to lead our team. As a strategic leader, you will oversee the successful execution of mechanical contracts, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Lead and manage mechanical contracts across diverse sectors, including industrial, MOD, educational, commercial, and pharmaceutical projects.
2. Team Leadership: Supervise project managers, engineers, and site teams, ensuring efficient project delivery.
3. Client Engagement: fostering strong relationships with clients, addressing enquiries, providing updates, and ensuring project alignment with client expectations.
4. Budget and Schedule Control: Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
5. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality benchmarks.
6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective solutions.
7. Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate terms and agreements.
8. Health and Safety: Uphold safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience:
9. Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical contracting, including leadership roles.
10. Knowledge of Building Services: Familiarity with mechanical systems, installations, and industry best practices.
11. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
12. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align projects with organisational goals and drive successful outcomes.
13. Leadership Abilities: Proven track record of leading and motivating teams.
