What to expect day to day
You will be part of a skilled team designing and developing electro-mechanical products, responsible for delivering cost-effective mechanical design solutions that meet technical, time, and budget requirements. You should possess broad mechanical engineering knowledge, capable of supporting complex design challenges involving dynamic mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems, and drive technical development of products.
Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and evaluate mechanical designs according to Camlin's NPI process, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
* Apply engineering principles to assess mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and products.
* Select appropriate mechanical components based on technical requirements.
* Create detailed engineering drawings (parts, assemblies, wiring diagrams) following best practices.
* Maintain Bills of Materials and collaborate with Purchasing on supplier selection.
* Ensure product performance in specified environments, meeting quality and customer expectations.
* Implement Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFM, DFA) techniques for cost-effective design.
* Collaborate with other engineering teams and departments.
* Participate in design reviews, create specifications, and develop test plans.
* Plan work independently and support technical proposals, reports, and cost estimates for bids and projects.
Minimum Requirements
* BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* At least 3 years in mechanical design and development.
* Proficiency with CAD software like Solid Edge, including creating parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings with GD&T.
* Strong understanding of engineering principles, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to design cost-effective solutions within budget and time constraints.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and technical challenge resolution.
* Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
