Finance Manager
NJC – Grade 8 Scale Point 28-36 ££39, - £47,
Start date – As soon as possible - Monday to Friday 8:50am - 5pm with some evening work required.
Sutton College is looking for an enthusiastic and competent Finance manager to join our team
The successful candidate we’re looking for will be part qualified CCAB accountancy or AAT qualified or demonstrable equivalent experience of operating at that level.
We would like you to have significant relevant experience of financial management, in the Adult Community Learning sectors, FE sector or the local authority. Experience within the private sector with complex funding models would be relevant.
You will have extensive experience of producing and analysing financial reports and will be required to present at Senior Leadership meetings, Governance meetings and other key stakeholders meetings.
You will have experience of managing, supporting and challenging staff, along with identifying risks and opportunities in relation to the finances of the college. The Finance Manager will form part of College Management Team and evening work will be required.
1. Qualifications - Part qualified CCAB accountancy or AAT qualified or demonstrable equivalent experience of operating at that level.
2. Prepared to undertake Continuing Professional Development with the relevant professional body.
3. Experience of delivering high quality finance services in a large organisation or educational setting.
4. Experience of budget preparation/corporate finances in a large organisation in the public or private sector.
5. Experience of working in a customer-focused environment and achieving successful outcomes in the delivery of services that meet customer needs.
6. Experience of managing change in the ACL or FE sector, and or the local authority.
7. Experience in staff development and to performance management in an ACL or FE environment.
8. Knowledge of the main features of the external financial controls over local authorities and the ACL or FE sector.
