Overview
Join to apply for the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist role at NSFT Jobs.
The Suffolk Therapeutic Fostering team provides a county wide therapeutic support service to Suffolk foster carers. You will work with a Lead Clinical Psychologist who offers clinical support and advice, and who develops and delivers therapeutic courses and training days. You will be an integral part of a multi-agency team with social workers, course trainers and facilitators, and other family support practitioners, contributing to the therapeutic relationship between carers, children, and professionals. The team is busy, supportive, and creative in delivering care to children and families.
We offer an exciting opportunity to work alongside adults, social workers and children in care in a variety of ways, with a focus on systems thinking, developmental trauma, attachment, and therapeutic parenting. This is a varied role that involves teamwork and contributing across systems and organisations.
Role involves two days per week with the Suffolk Therapeutic Fostering (STF) team of multi-professionals providing training and consultations to foster carers in Suffolk. You will support and train foster carers and Social Workers in therapeutic parenting techniques, share insights from up-to-date literature on Developmental Trauma and early attachment difficulties, and contribute to the prevention of placement breakdowns in foster care. You will provide Clinical supervision to members of the STF team and participate in group training services. It is preferred that one of the days is a Wednesday when the whole team meets at Saxon House, Hadleigh Road industrial estate, Ipswich.
