Purpose of the role: The role of the Advocate Educator will include providing Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS) training to GP surgeries to improve health professionals understanding of domestic abuse, with the aim of increasing the number of referrals made by GP surgeries for domestic abuse support.
You will also provide support and advocacy for medium risk individuals experiencing domestic abuse who have been referred by the participating GP surgeries.
Working as part of a team you will be involved in planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating the IRIS service across Bolton.
An understanding of child protection and the protection of adults at risk and a commitment to follow procedure.
Experience of delivering training.
Experience of project or service development.
Experience of building and maintaining professional relationships and partnerships.
Experience of working within the domestic abuse and violence sector or a similar field would be preferred.
