Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; HPC's two EPR reactors will be capable of generating 3.26GW of secure, low‑carbon electricity for 60 years, enough electricity to power around 6 million homes. In addition to the project’s "clean energy" benefits, HPC will create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
The Piping Engineer will deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Work packs to support the MEH Alliance programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Ultimately accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Packs and record in AS9 the work information used to prepare installation (RFI, FCR…)
* Contribution to the scheduling of the works for the discipline
* Define boundary of scope of works
* Liaising with necessary SME's and client counterparts
* Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation. Request clarification or propose changes when required.
* Ensure documents are kept up-to-date and reviewed periodically where required
Education, Experience and Skills
* Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training OR experience of installing Mechanical and Piping systems.
* Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
* CCNSG Safety Passport
* Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector, preferably in nuclear
* Experience working on major construction projects
* Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level
* Experienced in Navisworks model, ability to use excel proficiently
