We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Retail to lead our retail operations, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional customer service across all store locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a comprehensive understanding of retail sales, inventory control, and team leadership. This role involves strategic planning, staff development, and operational oversight to maximize store performance and customer satisfaction. A company car will be provided and eligibility for a bonus of up to 50% of base salary. Responsibilities Develop and implement retail strategies to achieve sales targets and business objectives Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and pricing strategies Lead, motivate, and manage a team of retail staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations Manage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping activities ensuring accuracy and compliance Establish and enforce clear operational standards to ensure consistency of customer experience, compliance and commercial performance across the estate Conduct employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team skills and product knowledge Supervise inventory control processes to prevent stock discrepancies and optimize stock levels Oversee POS systems, cashiering activities, and ensure efficient checkout processes Coordinate purchasing decisions in collaboration with suppliers to ensure product availability and cost efficiency Monitor retail math metrics such as sales per square foot, average transaction value, and gross profit margins Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase foot traffic Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining high standards of communication skills and phone etiquette Manage store merchandising efforts to align with brand standards and seasonal campaigns Conduct regular store audits to ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations Utilize organizational skills to streamline workflows and improve overall store efficiency Build a high performance Area Management structure with clear standards, accountability and development pathways Requirements Proven management experience in retail environments, preferably in grocery or specialty stores with supervisory responsibilities Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and foster a positive work environment Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus Proficiency in retail management software including POS systems, inventory management tools, and payroll systems Demonstrated experience in employee recruitment, interviewing, training & development Skilled in retail math for pricing strategies, budgeting, sales management, and financial analysis Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately and confidently manage cashiering operations Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Experience with marketing initiatives such as merchandising or promotional campaigns is desirable Knowledge of wireless sales or other specialty product categories is advantageous Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Previous store management experience required; supervisory experience is essential This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader passionate about retail management.
