We are seeking talented Engineers to join our team at the Long Sutton manufacturing site. This role operates on a night shift schedule, following a 2-2-3 shift pattern with 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
The purpose of this role is to maintain site assets to achieve optimal operational efficiency, statutory and customer compliance, while adhering to all H&S requirements. Responsibilities include effective maintenance of assets from mechanical, electrical, or process perspectives; executing work schedules, PPMs, breakdowns, and capital projects; and supporting the site in achieving operational and strategic goals.
Principal Responsibilities
Safety, Quality, Hygiene
* Ensure safety considerations are prioritized during all duties.
* Adhere to all H&S policies, including Lock out/Tag and Permit to Work systems.
* Maintain GMP standards and ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
* Complete and act on risk assessments.
* Support a culture of safety awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
* Reduce customer complaints and wastage through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Maintain product safety, legality, and quality standards.
Operations Management
* Establish clear objectives with the Area Coordinator to meet operational targets.
* Record work activities related to PPMs, breakdowns, repairs, and modifications.
* Assist in training and supporting other departments.
* Identify training needs and plan accordingly.
Continuous Improvement
* Promote 5S, GMP, and other improvement tools.
* Review performance regularly and implement improvements.
Communication
* Ensure clear and accurate communication during handovers and reporting.
* Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams daily.
* Communicate with engineering stores for spares management.
Role Requirements
* Completed recognized engineering apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or above, preferably multi-skilled.
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing preferred.
* Proficient in PC usage and CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
* Experience with Permit to Work systems and risk assessments.
* Strong fault-finding, root cause analysis, and reading technical manuals and drawings skills.
* Advanced diagnostic skills in mechanical, electrical, PLC, and process areas.
