Sub Agent – Civil Engineering Location: Central Belt of Scotland Client: Leading Civil Engineering Contractor Role Overview: Our client, a respected civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. This is a site-based role involving a range of project types within the civil engineering sector. The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Civil Engineering and bring a solid understanding of core construction disciplines including earthworks, roadworks, drainage, and structural works. Key Responsibilities: * Assist Project and Site Agents in the successful delivery of civil engineering projects with a strong focus on cost control. * Conduct site inductions, safety briefings, and maintain high standards of HSEQ compliance. * Oversee and mentor site engineers, ensuring efficient and safe site operations. * Develop and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) to maintain quality assurance on all works. * Engage and liaise with clients, consulting engineers, public utilities, and local authorities. * Interpret and review technical designs and specifications, managing variations and design changes effectively. * Support procurement and material ordering processes in line with project needs. Requirements: * BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). * Proven experience in civil engineering works, particularly in areas such as earthworks, drainage, roads, and structures. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise professionally with colleagues, clients, and third parties. * Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail. * Full clean UK driving licence. Desirable Experience: * Experience working on projects under NEC contracts. * Previous involvement in coordinating with utility providers and local authorities. * Familiarity with quality and environmental compliance standards in the civil engineering sector.
