Oak Tree Lodge Care Home in Leeds is looking for a Housekeeper to join them on a bank basis. In this role, you’ll help create a clean, safe, and comforting environment for residents living with dementia. Your work will directly support their wellbeing and sense of security, making you an essential part of daily life in the home.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness across resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and staff spaces
2. Carry out routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitising surfaces, and emptying bins
3. Support infection-control procedures and follow all health and safety guidelines
4. Manage laundry duties such as washing, drying, ironing, and organising clothing and linens
5. Restock supplies (toiletries, cleaning products, paper goods) as needed
6. Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly
7. Interact with residents in a kind, patient, and respectful manner, recognising the needs of individuals living with dementia
8. Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure a calm, homely atmosphere
What We’re Looking For:
9. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (care home experience is helpful but not essential)
10. An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, dementia and person‑centred care
11. A gentle, reassuring approach when around residents
12. Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining a welcoming environment
13. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
14. Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
