We are supporting a welcoming and inclusive school in Newton Heath that is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone confident working with a diverse range of additional needs across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
* Provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
* Use effective strategies to assist learners with speech, language and communication needs, including those who are non-verbal
* Support children and young people with autism, sensory needs and social communication challenges
* Respond calmly and consistently to challenging behaviour linked to SEMH
* Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning, remove barriers and promote full inclusion
* Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence and positive engagement in the classroom
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who has:
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school environment (essential)
* Strong understanding of autism, communication needs and behaviour support strategies
* Patience, empathy and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships
* A resilient, proactive approach and genuine passion for supporting young people
* Confidence working across KS1, KS2 and KS3
