Global Communications Director, Growth (12-month contract)

Role Description
This role provides Corporate Communications advisory services and delivery support for Growth. It is the primary communications advisor for the Chief Growth Officer for internal and external communications, including strategic advisory, reputation management, thought leadership, and leadership engagement. The Communications Director, Growth will deliver strategic global communications programs for Growth and support global communication programs.
Accountabilities
* Lead, develop, and deliver a corporate communications and engagement strategy for Growth to drive employee engagement and brand advocacy.
* Contribute to the global corporate communications and cross-GBA communications strategies and the overall Corporate Communications program.
* Lead internal communications within Growth to support Your Voice scores, focusing on strategic storytelling, leadership engagement, and strategy communication.
* Lead the development of the core Growth narrative and key messages for corporate communication audiences and provide advice and oversight for campaign/marketing content.
* Create and deliver strategic Growth communications plans and content for earned PR/business communication (e.g., prioritised press releases, blogs, speeches for external speaking opportunities, corporate thought leadership) and internal channels (EDMs, bulletins, intranet, webinars).
* Collaborate with other GBA Communications Directors and Cross-GBA Communications Director on cross‑GBA communication activity, embedding the Growth story and promoting a One Arcadis approach.
* Provide strategic advice and counsel to the Growth Officer and Management Team regarding content, messages, and appropriate spokespeople.
* Establish strong connections across GBAs, Corporate Communications, and Enablers (Operations and GSSC) to deliver best practice communications.
* Work closely with country Corporate Communications leaders to ensure messages are localised, delivered through country teams, and amplified through relevant channels.
* Deliver external communications activities, including press releases, news and announcements, Growth content on Arcadis’ news section, and social media content.
* Monitor results and ensure communications programs are informed by data and audience insight.
* Agree on SLAs specific to communications for Growth with Ops Leader to ensure deliverables are clear and ROI maximised.
* Coach and guide Growth senior leaders on engagement and thought leadership to ensure they are well equipped for speaking opportunities and conference speeches.
* Represent Growth communications priorities on Governance Boards, including Editorial Boards and the Corporate Communications Community of Practice.
* Participate in crisis response communication in the event of a global or Growth issue that threatens reputational damage.

* Work with the Global Communications Director – Strategic Programs to support communication for strategic programs.
* Collaborate with the Cross-GBA Communications Director to align on cross‑GBA Growth-related communications activities and priorities.
* Drive communications topics from the Change/Transformation team and take them forward into Growth.
* Partner with the Marketing team on external amplification of the Growth story and relevant thought leadership.

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Business, Journalism, Communications, or Organisational Development. Preferred progress in Change Management.
* Minimum 8‑10 years experience working with the C‑Suite and senior stakeholders.
* Internal communications experience essential; external communications exposure valuable.
* Experience navigating matrixed organizations, such as professional services or consultancy.
* Experience with data‑driven approaches to reporting on success.
* Experience managing a global team across geographies.
* Experience developing and successfully rolling out complex change, cultural and organisational programmes that influence step change.
* Strong writing and tone of voice skills; strategist who can juggle competing demands.
* Understanding of systemic behaviour shift principles.
