Due to expansion of the business, we are recruiting for an additional HGV Vehicle Technician.
Operating in Preston, Lancashire, Woods Fleet Support not only provides vehicle breakdown assistance and recovery locally, but nationwide, due to a widespread network of trusted sub-contractors who are individually vetted to ensure they provide the best service possible for our customers.

Job Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Vehicle Technician, ideally with NVQ level in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance or equivalent skills gained through experience.
MOT preparations, inspections, servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on HGVs, trailers and light commercial fleets will be among the daily responsibilities. Due to expansion, it would be ideal to begin as soon as possible. There is overtime available. Vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Perform diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and equipment for assembly and repair vehicles.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
* Assist in the training of apprentice technicians when required.
* On call rota for OOH roadside assistance.
Experience
* Proven experience in HGV maintenance or a similar role is essential.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair.
* Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques is advantageous.
* Skills in fabrication, soldering, welding, and working with schematics are highly desirable.
* UK full driving license.
* HGV C & C+E (desired).
* A good knowledge of health and safety requirements in vehicle maintenance.
