Job summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated Allied Health Professional (AHP) to lead the strategic development of workforce, education and professional development across our AHP services. This influential position will be the driving force behind high-quality AHP workforce planning, education, and professional standards, and will play a key role in shaping a highly skilled, sustainable workforce. The post holder will work closely with the Chief AHP to lead strategic workforce initiatives, champion innovative staffing solutions, and ensure our services are safe, sustainable, and future-ready. The post holder will lead Trust-wide efforts to optimise e-rostering and SafeCare, support AHP leaders in delivering robust workforce models, and represent the Chief AHP at key internal and external forums. With a strong focus on education and career development, the post holder will create excellent learning environments, build strong partnerships with universities, and ensure compliance with HCPC standards across practice-based learning. Main duties of the job Work with the Chief AHP to develop and implement policies and procedures that support effective staffing and safe AHP workforce planning. Lead the Trust's AHP workforce planning, including long-term workforce strategies and modernisation of AHP services and education. Support the delivery of Trust-wide strategic objectives through high-level workforce planning and service redesign. Act as the Trust's subject matter expert for AHP E-roster/SafeCare systems. Monitor the impact of workforce decisions on patient care using technology and data. Support AHP Leads in workforce modelling, and development of sustainable staffing solutions. Develop systems for identifying workforce shortfalls and opportunities for redeployment. Identify workforce risks, develop action plans and escalate concerns where appropriate. Lead on AHP education and training across the Trust, ensuring high-quality career pathways and learning environments. Monitor, support and ensure the quality of learning for pre-registration AHP students and post-registration learners. Translate learning from incidents, complaints and audits into practice improvement. Lead defined projects and deputise for the Chief AHP at internal, regional and national forums.
