GRADE ASTD7\n LOCATION OF POSITION MDH Talbot County Health Department\nTalbot County Early Head Start\n305 Glenwood Avenue�\nEaston, MD 21601\n Main Purpose of Job The Child Development Teacher provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and\nparent involvement services to qualified children ages 0 to 3 years and their families. CDTs\nprovide primary caregiving activities to the children as well as activities designed to promote\ntheir social, creative, physical and cognitive growth.\nThe Child Development Teacher supports the mission of Talbot County Early Head Start to\nnurture children, empower parents, and strengthen families by providing comprehensive,\nyear-round early childhood and family development services to qualified families. The Child\nDevelopment Teacher also supports the mission by providing caregiving and physical,\nemotional and learning support to children with special needs.\n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\nExperience: One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community. \nNotes:\n1. Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting�on a year-for-year basis for the required education. \n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.�\n DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The desired candidate should possess the following:\n-Ninety-hour (90) Early Childhood Education certificate\n-Forty-five hour (45) Infant Toddler certificate�\n-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification\n LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
