Are you a compassionate, reliable individual who is passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives? Our growing care agency is seeking dedicated Agency Support Workers to join our team in Newport.
Please note: Applicants must hold a valid Practical Manual Handling Certificate.
Key Responsibilities
5. Provide person-centred support with daily living tasks, including personal care and household responsibilities, ensuring individual needs are fully met.
6. Offer companionship and emotional reassurance to help reduce loneliness and promote overall wellbeing.
7. Encourage and support individuals to maintain independence by accessing community activities, social opportunities, and appointments.
8. Safely assist with mobility and transfers using approved Moving and Handling techniques, prioritising dignity, safety, and comfort at all times.
9. Support individuals who may present challenging behaviours with a calm, respectful, and professional approach, maintaining a safe environment.
10. Motivate and empower clients to work towards their personal goals and aspirations, enhancing confidence, purpose, and quality of life.
Required Skills & Experience
11. A minimum of 6 months’ UK-based experience working as a Support Worker.
12. A valid Practical Manual Handling Certificate.
13. Experience with, or confidence in, supporting individuals who may present with behaviours that challenge.
14. A compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a strong commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives.
15. Reliable, flexible, and willing to work a variety of shifts across different locations.
16. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative and sound judgement to meet client needs effectively.
17. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
