We are looking for a skilled Workshop Electrician to carry out routine electrical servicing and maintenance of workshop equipment for one of our clients. This role involves fault finding, repairs, and ensuring the safe and efficient performance of a wide range of electrical systems, including generators, loadbanks, and low-voltage equipment.
Carry out load testing and commissioning on generators from 20–2000 kVA, recording results and verifying performance
Strip down, rewire, and modify control panels and modules, including updating schematics and replacing components
Inspect, repair, and prepare HV transformers and high-voltage cable installations, following safe isolation procedures
Maintain and troubleshoot AC loadbanks, including programming and validating control modules
Carry out battery maintenance, alternator repairs, and general product control tasks
Time-served electrical engineer with demonstrable, hands-on electrical experience and a clear electrical background
SCQF Level 7 (SVQ Level 3) or time-served/apprentice-qualified with strong practical understanding of DC and AC controls, plus single- and three-phase electrics
Proven experience in control panel strip-downs, rewires and electrical modifications, xkybehq including reading and updating wiring diagrams
Practical experience working on generators, plant or heavy equipment (HV, loadbanks or engine systems); You'll work a 40 hours week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required depending on workload and business needs
