Are you proactive, hands-on, and ready to keep a busy campus running smoothly? As a Facilities & Services Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in making sure Imperial Business School is ready for business every single day. From maintaining kitchens and teaching spaces to supporting events and minor works, you’ll ensure our spaces are safe, welcoming, and fit for purpose. This role also calls for strong, proactive communication skills. You’ll need to keep colleagues updated, flag issues quickly, and work closely with Estates and ICT teams to resolve problems before they impact teaching or events.
In this varied and active role, you will:
1. Be based 100% on campus, starting your day early (7.30am) to carry out crucial morning checks that ensure teaching can go ahead without disruption.
2. Proactively maintain kitchens, teaching rooms, breakout spaces and offices – checking they are clean, safe, and well-stocked.
3. Respond quickly to facilities issues, reporting defects and liaising with Estates and ICT colleagues to ensure smooth resolution.
4. Support events and student inductions, including furniture moves, branded items, and space set-ups.
5. Complete office setups, staff moves and furniture installations, as well as managing storage rooms across campus, ensuring stock is monitored, recycled where possible, and spaces are kept organised.
6. Contribute to health and safety by carrying out daily checks, reporting hazards, and acting as a trained First Aider and Fire Warden.
This is a very practical, customer-facing role where your presence and initiative make a real difference to the daily life of the Business School.
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
7. Experience in facilities, services, or a similar hands-on environment.
8. Strong organisational skills, able to manage your own time and juggle multiple tasks.
9. Confidence to take initiative and solve problems on the spot.
10. A proactive approach to ensuring spaces are ready for staff and students each day.
11. Excellent communication skills! You’ll act as the eyes and ears across campus, ensuring colleagues are kept informed, issues are escalated quickly, and everyone stays on the same page.
12. Good people skills and the ability to build positive relationships across teams.
13. Comfortable with physically active work, including furniture moves and deliveries.
14. The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
15. Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 41 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes).
16. Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme.
17. Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel.
18. Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with variousand resources to support your personal and professional.
