MOJ- Coventry County Court – Court Usher
Location: Little Park Street, Coventry, CV1 2SQ
OFFICE BASED
Hourly rate: £12.21 per hour
Working Days/Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm
Contract: Temporary position until 31st March 2026 with potential extension pending performance and business needs
Brook Street in partnership with the Ministry of Justice has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Court Usher. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable exposure/experience working within the Public Sector.
Experience Needed/Desired
* Dealing with customers
* Time management
* Basic IT skills
* Ability to deal with difficult customers
* Proactive/ on-floor presence
* Multitasking
Responsibilities
* Set the court rooms and chambers with water and lists
* Team briefing
* Using software
* Date entry – find the names of barristers
* Printing
* Check people in to hearings
* Find people to enter hearings
* Arranging specialist requests
* Receiving solicitors and court users
Clearance
Enhanced DBS
Training
No annual leave whilst in training. Associates will be shadowing other court ushers and completing e-learning.
Additional clearance
Period of 6 months or longer spent outside the UK in the last 5 years may require an additional overseas police check; the candidate is responsible for providing this.
